Daily Herald Tribune Articles... 1960's

What's happening: Establishment of the Peace School of Hope precipitates the need for residential accommodation and in 1962 Barrydale Dormitory, a 20-bed residence for children, is built. Iris Pollock is hired as the first teacher/principal. Throughout the 60s, Barrydale Dorm is expanded to meet the demands of a growing school population. Space for 30 children is made possible through local and federal funding, with the aim of making more space available for aboriginal children.
